Masterclass: The Archimedean Solids: Oct. 14 - Dec. 9, 2024 (Live)

Part 1 of 2: Forms with Non-Golden Ratio Proportions

MastercOURSE Summary

Focusing on drawing the non-golden ratio Archimedean Solids, many of the forms drawn in this course will be from the three main orthographic perspectives (2, 3, and 5-fold symmetry). The drawings also illustrate face, edge, or vertex perspectives of the forms. These solids have two types of polygon faces, which provide many unique perspectives for viewing the forms.

In total, Parts 1 and 2 of contain over 33 drawings of 11 of the 13 solids. Two solids (Snub Cube and Snub Dodecahedron) have been proven to not be drawable with compass and straight edge techniques, so only their nets for construction will be provided. Nevertheless the 11 forms that can be drawn will deepen your understanding of the pattern language of Sacred geometry while mastering Knew Geometry's creative discovery process, methods, and techniques used to draw these enchantingly beautiful forms. The 18+ drawings in Part 1 do no require construction techniques that use the golden ratio. While the 15 drawings in Part 2 do. The list below outlines which forms will drawn in each part. Each form will have a minimum of 3 drawings.

MASTERCOURSE  focus

The Archimedean Solids  has a range of drawings that are suitable for intermediate and advanced geometers. However, a beginner with some prior drawing experience can get started with Part 1 and continue on to Part 2 with ease. We will often complete 2 or more drawings per session. Five of the 11 forms utilize the golden ratio while the other six do not contain the golden ratio. Some forms range from relatively simple to fairly complex. This will certainly be a rewarding experience, as drawing 11 of the 13 Archimedean Solids from 3 perspectives is an incredible accomplishment  along your  Knew journey of discovery!

  • Understanding the multi-faceted relationships of these forms enhances your understanding of all other aspects of Sacred Geometry
  • Enhance your creative intuition by engaging with the forms, allowing them to directly express their intelligence
